From Connection to Faith: Welcomed into God’s family

Joy overflowed at Epiphany Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 20, 2026 as Nathalie and Nanette Kue were baptized into the family of God. It was a moment of celebration not only for them, but for a community that has walked alongside them in faith for many years.

The Kue family first connected with Epiphany Lutheran Church a few years ago through the ministry of Christian Friends of New Americans, where relationships began to take root and grow. Their journey of faith has already been marked by joy, as the eldest daughter, Janessa, was also baptized at the congregation. As Epiphany Lutheran Church and CFNA continue serving together for the Kingdom, stories like these remind us how God works through shared ministry. CFNA has long been a place where New Americans are welcomed, supported, and connected to the life of the Church. Nathalie and Nanette’s baptism is a beautiful reflection of that ongoing work—God drawing people to Himself through community, care, and the steady witness of His people.

The service was filled with gratitude and praise. One especially powerful moment came when Rhoda Mapenzi, a friend of CFNA, sang “Goodness of God.” Her heartfelt rendition moved many to tears and gave voice to what so many were feeling: a deep awareness of God’s faithfulness on display in that very moment.

This baptism was more than a single event—it was a glimpse into the continued work of the Holy Spirit through CFNA. God is using this ministry to build relationships, nurture faith, and bring people into His promises.

We give thanks for Nathalie and Nanette, and we praise God for the way He continues to work through Christian Friends of New Americans, drawing people into His family and surrounding them with a community of faith.

In His Service,
Pastor Tim Staffeld
