A Season of Abundance
/Celebrating our New Graduates
May 2025 saw a record number of CFNA scholarship recipients graduate from the St. Louis Lutheran High Schools. The five young men and women mentioned below had significant success in their high school years and show great promise for the future.
Thelma, who was supported by CFNA from third grade at CCLS through Lutheran South, is heading to Jefferson College in Hillsboro for a pre-radiology program. Her family came to the United States from Liberia before she was born. She claims that
“CFNA scholarships have opened a lot of doors for me to grow and learn. I’ll forever be grateful.” Thelma showed her gratitude by volunteering regularly at CFNA this past year.
Enock, who had CFNA support through his four years at Lutheran South, emigrated from the Congo with his family several years ago. He will be studying software development at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Enock said, “The CFNA scholarship allowed me to have the great opportunity of graduating at Lutheran South and acquiring the great memories and future opportunities that I have now. I enjoyed making friends at LUSO and attending their games and events.”
Gentil, a recent immigrant from Rwanda, came to Lutheran North for his senior year on the recommendation of staff at CFNA, where his family had become involved shortly after arriving in St. Louis. During his senior year, he volunteered regularly at CFNA. He is going to Baylor University in Texas to study computer engineering.
Ephrata, whose family came to St. Louis from Ethiopia before she was born, had a stellar four years at Lutheran North, supported by CFNA scholarships. She won numerous awards and went to Girls’ State in Missouri last summer. Ephrata will be going to Washington University here in St. Louis.
Abishek, who came to St. Louis from Nepal, was supported for four years at Lutheran South with a CFNA scholarship. During his senior year, he volunteered at CFNA, supporting their programs for other immigrants. He has yet to share what’s next, but we wish him the best in all his endeavors.
Donors to the CFNA scholarship program made it possible for these young people to be prepared for their roles as future citizens of the United States. Besides these young graduates, the other 20 students with CFNA scholarships are also benefiting from the
opportunity to learn in a faith-filled, quality educational environment. We are eternally thankful to God for his blessing upon students through these generous contributions!
