Breaking New Ground
/In recent weeks, Pastor Lewi Jermiya of Kunama Bible Fellowship, a ministry focused on reaching Ethiopian and Eritrean communities, has witnessed tremendous progress in sharing the gospel in St. Louis, Chicago, and beyond.
During Easter, Pastor Jermiya held a 3-day conference at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church located in Chicago. The conference started at 8:30 PM on Good Friday and ended with a time of worship on Resurrection Sunday. There were over 100 attendees, some of whom were from South Dakota, Iowa, Arizona, Nashville, Saint Louis, Atlanta, Columbus Ohio, and Canada.
In St. Louis, Pastor Jermiya continued to see God’s hand at work. From May 2-4, Kunama Lutheran Community hosted a conference at St. Trinity Lutheran Church where 4 states were represented in a crowd of 105 people.
Lastly, on May 24th, Pastor Jermiya was invited to his friend’s wedding in Des Moines, Iowa where over 600 people gathered. Though originally a guest, he unexpectedly preached a sermon, much to the surprise – and delight – of the couple and attendees.
The founder of CFNA, Rev. Dr. Al Buckman, remarked how this series of events “marks a milestone for the on-going development of [Kunama] ministry.” Through committed Christ followers such as Rev. Lewi Jermiya, we are able to hear of the wondrous works that the Father is doing in St. Louis and beyond. Let us rejoice and be encouraged in our own walk by this ministry!
Please consider praying for Pastor Jermiya and Kunama Bible Fellowship as the ministry continues to convene in St. Louis and spread the Good News to the nations.
